Burn Safety: Protect Your Child from Burns

Children are curious and hence keep exploring their surroundings. Burn safety is a foreign concept to most young explorers. Children learn by touching things including those that can be dangerous. It’s better to take precautions to avoid burns and scalds. Many ordinary things in your home can be dangerous to your child and a severe scald can inflict a serious injury and may mean a long stay in hospital. Reduce water temperature, avoid hot spills, test food temperature, unplug irons, establish ‘no’ zones, choose a cool-water vaporiser or humidifier, address outlets and electrical cords and many more, taking these into consideration can help you a lot and can provide much more safety and protection from harm.
Barbecues, bonfires and fireworks are fascinating for children and stay for long time, thus it’s best to teach children to stay a safe distance from the fire and supervise them carefully. In the living room, hot drinks, heaters and fires, irons etc. are dangerous.  It is always safest to put these away, out of reach and out of sight after you’ve used it. Along with above, saucepans, kettle cords, hobs and hotplates, microwaves, chip pans, matches, cigarettes, lighters and candles, etc. could be troubling and hence stop your little ones from playing with them, or touching or stepping on them by accident.
Children under four years, especially those aged between one and two years are most at risk due to their increased mobility and natural curiosity. Thus protect your children especially when they are small. Give them the supervision their age requires. Teach children the hazards of fires and burns and teach them to avoid foreseeable dangers.

Coffee May Reduce Risk of Dying From Certain Types of Cirrhosis

Drinking coffee may reduce the risk of death from certain types of liver cirrhosis, a large new study suggests. Drinking two or more cups of coffee a day was associated with a 66 per cent lower risk of death from liver cirrhosis caused by non-viral hepatitis, according to the study published online recently in the journal Hepatology. According to doctors, drinking tea, fruit juice or soft drinks had no effect on the risk of death from liver cirrhosis, while heavy alcohol use increased the risk.
Coffee is a complex study then other food items. The study is first “to demonstrate a difference between the effects of coffee on non-viral and viral hepatitis related cirrhosis mortality”. “This finding resolves the seemingly conflicting results on the effect of coffee in Western and Asian-based studies of death from liver cirrhosis. Finding suggests that while the benefit of coffee may be less apparent in the Asian population where chronic viral hepatitis B predominates currently, this is expected to change as the incidence of non-viral hepatitis related cirrhosis is expected to increase in these regions, accompanying the increasing affluence and westernising lifestyles amongst their younger populations.”

Whether you accept it or not but you are somewhere affected by the thoughts coming and running into your mind. Being optimist serves you with good and positive results as it makes you to be strong in all situations and expect only good things to happen.
Positive thinking is the tendency to believe, to hope, to expect, that things will turn out well. The emerging field of positive psychology studies the positive impact that optimism has on mental health. Other research shows that optimism may be good for physical health too; optimists are sick less and live longer than pessimists. Apparently, a positive outlook on life strengthens the immune system, cardiovascular system (optimists have fewer heart attacks), and the body’s ability to handle stress. Co-operative Relationship between a Doctor and Patient

A doctor and a patient relation is the foundation of medical ethics. Patients and doctors need to have mutual understanding and a good cooperation among them in terms of mutual respect, knowledge, trust, shared values and time.  A good relation between them is 100% responsible for health care plans and positive confidence into patients. We can say that doctors and patients are two different groups of people with same ambition and task and are hence supposed to fight with mutual trust and comprehension.

Patients and doctors work together and such cooperation is an essential part of today’s health care world. Healthier is the relation, easier is the treatment. It completely determines the quality of information being understood. A healthy relation can benefit in several ways and also takes care of patients and doctors personal trust and satisfaction. Patients who feel that their physicians treat them with respect and fairness, communicate well and engage with them outside of the office setting are more active in their own health care and thus it clears number of doubts and sickness and doctors takes more consideration in curing their disease. Thus it is suggested with prime importance that both should maintain a cordial relation and help each other in achieving the main and similar goal.

Plastic Injection Needles

Pen needles are the plastic injection needles that are used in conjunction with injection pens to deliver inject able medications into the body. A pen needle is basically consisted of a hollow needle which is embedded in a plastic hub and attached to injection pens. Hypodermic needle is also a hollow needle frequently used with a syringe to interject substances into the body or extract fluids from it. Plastic injection moulding of hypodermic needles is being done. Thus metal hypodermic needles are commonly used to perform in vivo drug delivery or blood extraction application.
Plastic hypodermic needles may help in reducing sickness and disabilities due to unsterile re-use, as they may be more easily disabled and disposed of as compared to metal ones. One of the most serious drawbacks such as the reuse of hypodermic needle becomes the major source of infections and therefore, a concept of replacing the metal hypodermic needles with plastics is carried out in order to reduce the reuse of contaminated needles.
Hence plastic injection needles are of very much use in order to control and reduce the disorders and maladies inside the body and also are extremely smooth in use and needle’s surface is extremely sharp. These are easily available at hospitals and locums.
